Dear Birthmother,

We are Chris and Melanie, and we truly wish we could meet you in person.  We have profound respect for the path you have chosen and your love for your unborn child.  We are privileged that you want to know whether we could be the right parents for your sweet baby. 

We have been in love since meeting in college and have been married since October of 2000.  We have an easy relationship and feel blessed to have found one another.  Our home is filled with lots of laughter and love.  We enjoy traveling and usually spend at least several weeks a year at the seaside. 

We live in a beautiful neighborhood with large trees, quiet streets and great neighbors.  We have a sprawling brick home with a special room just waiting for a new addition.  We have an oversized backyard covered with grass and peppered with all sorts of toys.  We often eat al fresco and enjoy having leisurely dinners while discussing our day.   

Being Italian, we also spend much of our time in the kitchen, cooking and socializing.  Laughter and sweet smells can often be found escaping from our kitchen.  In our home, your baby is sure to receive loads of love, warmth and lots of home cooking.

Our favorite cooking assistant is our young daughter, Isabelle.  Isabelle is a joyful and sweet natured child who longs for a brother or sister to love.  Isabelle has been the center of our world since she arrived and we look forward to showering the same love and attention on our next addition.        

Our family also includes our white Labrador dog, Jack.  He is a big clumsy, chubby, loving guy, who adores children.  He enjoys going on camping and hiking trips with us.  His very favorite thing is playing on the beach at Chris’ parents’ beach house, which we visit whenever we can. 

We are lucky enough to spend lots of time with our extended family.  Melanie’s mother, father, sister, brother-in-law and niece all live within several miles of our home.  Chris’ entire family spends the holidays in our town and his parents spend their summers here with many cousins visiting.

When we learned that another pregnancy would not be feasible, adoption was the natural choice for us, as four of Melanie’s cousins are adopted.  Both of our extended families are thrilled that they will soon be welcoming a new child into our lives.

The holidays are very special to our family, especially Christmas.  Christmas cookie preparation is a family affair that starts several weeks before Christmas.   There are several celebrations on Christmas Eve and Christmas day at our relatives’ homes.  Lots of cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents join in our celebration. 

We want you to know that if you choose us to be the parents of your baby, we would embrace your child into our family and be devoted, loving parents.  We would be honored to tell your baby about your precious gift of life and love.
