Dear Birthmother, Hello, we are Andrea and Luis. You are truly an angel for honoring your child’s life, and for giving another family the blessing of a child. We realize that this is an uncertain and even sometimes scary time for you, but please remember how strong you are, and what a wonderful decision you are making for your precious baby. Luis and I have an awesome life together, which includes our young son, Michael. Our home is filled with laughter, hugs, kisses, affection, friends, family, and love. Michael even calls me “mi corazon,” (my heart) in Spanish! He cannot wait to welcome a baby brother or sister into his life. I am known to my friends as a social butterfly and look forward to many play dates and making many new friends. I really like the occasional “girls night out” with all of my girl friends. We do things like go out to dinner, see a movie, grab a cup of coffee, or even go and see the Maroon 5 concert together. Luis really enjoys playing golf or soccer with his friends—and Michael is keeping the junior golf clubs warmed up for his new baby brother or sister! And, you can often find Luis surfing his iPod, downloading music or movies from the iTunes store, or just emailing a friend. On the weekends you can typically find us playing outside in our fenced-in backyard, having friends over for dinner, or even going camping. We also like to travel to nearby bigger cities, take in the sites, and even do a bit of shopping. And, our Saturdays would not be the same without our “Fiesta Sabado” theme, when we speak Spanish, talk about Guatemala, and eat Latin American foods. I am best friends with my younger sister. She and the rest of my family live in a larger city, about three hours from our home and we see them a lot. My parents also have a winter home in Florida, and we go there for vacation a few times a year. Last year we went to Disney World, and plan on going back in a few years with both of the children. We also keep in touch with Luis’ family in Guatemala and Honduras and are planning a trip to Guatemala this year. Our entire family is excited about the adoption. Our biggest dream for our family is to have two children so that they each can have one another throughout their lives. We are very close with our siblings, and cannot imagine our lives today without them. We want this same thing for both of our children, and we cannot wait for Michael’s little brother or sister, who has been growing in all of our hearts for a very long time, to be part of our family. If you feel that we are the right family for your baby, we will be forever thankful, and your child will live a very happy and healthy life, knowing how loved he/she is by family members as well as the wonderful, selfless young woman that gave him/her life. Blessings,
|
