Dear Birthmother,

Hi, our names are Joe and Lynn. We are so thankful that you have chosen to read about us. We are anxiously looking forward to adopting a baby! We already have a young daughter of our own but are excited to be parents again! We decided to adopt because we believe it would be too risky to try another pregnancy. We lost our first baby, prior to conceiving our daughter, Alandra. We don’t want to risk losing another baby and are so happy to be adopting!
 
Joe and I met dancing. I’d been taking dance classes and was out dancing with a girlfriend at a country western nightclub. When Joe asked me to dance, we had an immediate attraction to one another. We started dating shortly thereafter and have really enjoyed being a family ever since we got married in 2004. We laugh, smile, tell jokes, and play hard together.
 
Joe is a Construction Superintendent for a commercial construction company. At work, he builds shopping malls and large office buildings. He loves to build at home too. He’s remodeled many rooms of our home, has built furniture and playground equipment, and has worked on many backyard projects. Currently, he’s painting our stairway and upstairs hallways! Kitchen countertops and tile back splashes are next! I’m sure it’ll be beautiful when he’s done!!

I’m a Speech-Language Pathologist. I work with children from preschool through fifth grade. I get to help children improve their communication skills. Many times they’re not talking at all. It’s always such a joy to see their speaking skills improve and to be able to take part in facilitating that with their parents and teachers. 

Our family includes our parents (grandparents), grandparents (great grandparents), brothers and sisters (aunts and uncles), and even our aunts, uncles, and cousins. We live a few hours apart (either by car, or by plane depending on who we’re visiting). We talk at least once every week and spend many weekends and holidays together. We love to camp and have family outings. Our daughter and her cousins really enjoy playing together. There are six children who are cousins, soon to be seven once we adopt, and more to come in our extended family. 

We believe in God, say prayers together at mealtimes and before bed, go to church, attend child Sunday school classes with our daughter, enjoy Bible study groups with our congregation, and really have the support of our wonderful Christian family.

We want you to know how very grateful we are that you are considering us for this amazing adoption.  Joe and I, as well as our family and friends will love the baby we get to adopt with all of our hearts and souls and will do our very best to give this child everything we can.
